Steps to follow

Notice

To apply for financial assistance under the Chauffez vert program, you have the following time limits:

  • For work that has started on or after June 15, 2022: 12 months from the start date of eligible work.
  • For work performed between May 11, 2020 and June 14, 2022, inclusive: 6 months from the start date of eligible work.

You are responsible for making sure that your home and the work concerned meet the program’s conditions and requirements.

You acknowledge and assume the risks or disadvantages that may result from the rejection of your application for financial assistance from this program.

Steps to follow

Step 1

Make sure that your home and the work concerned meet the criteria of the Chauffez vert program by consulting the Participant's Guide.

 

Before beginning the work, you will need to choose the equipment, materials and a contractor. Read our useful tips on this topic if necessary.

Step 2

Once the work is finished, gather all the required supporting documents.

Required supporting documents

For all types of work

  • Proof of ownership of the home where the work was carried out

For the replacement of a central heating system or a water heater

  • Copy of your last electricity bill, dated before the start of your work, with all pages, including the “Electricity Consumption History” table.
  • Full copy of your last fuel bill or annual delivery statement (oil or propane).
  • Proof of purchase and installation of the new heating system, including the following information:
    • the address of the home concerned by the work
    • the name of the home owner
    • the name of the company
    • the RBQ licence number of the contractor that carried out the work
    • the date on which the work was carried out
    • the description of the work carried out
    • the cost of work
  • Proof of purchase and installation of the new water heater, including the following information:
    • the address of the home concerned by the work
    • the name of the home owner
    • the name of the company
    • the RBQ licence number of the contractor that carried out the work
    • the date on which the work was carried out
    • the description of the work carried out
    • the cost of work
Step 3

Fill out your application for financial assistance on line (in French only) and make sure that you attach the required supporting documents

 

Make sure that you have all the information you need on hand before starting to fill out the form.

  • You will not be able to interrupt the session or save information and then come back to it later. Therefore,
  • You can attach up to five PDF files or photos at the same time in a field. The total size of the files is limited to 10 MB per field and 50 MB for the entire form.
  • If necessary, consult the Participant’s Guide.
Step 4

Chauffez vert program managers will review the documents that have been received to determine if you are eligible for financial assistance. Additional information or documents may be requested from you during their review.

Step 5

If your application is complete, you will be notified by e-mail that you are either eligible or ineligible for financial assistance.

 

If you are eligible for financial assistance, you will also receive instructions by e-mail on how to safely provide your social insurance number (SIN) to the program's managers. The SIN is required to pay the financial assistance.

 

Never e-mail your SIN.

Step 6Follow the instructions you received to provide your SIN. You will receive your financial assistance by cheque within 4 to 6 weeks of receiving e-mail confirmation that your file is complete.
