Extraordinary improvements

Discover the temporary measures added to the Chauffez vert Program throught December 31, 2020.

Notice

You are responsible for making sure that your home and the work concerned meet the program’s conditions and requirements. 

You have a maximum of 6 months from the start date of the work to submit an application for financial assistance. 

You acknowledge and assume the risks or disadvantages that may result from the rejection of your application for financial assistance from this program.

Steps to follow

Step 1

Make sure that your home and the work concerned meet the criteria of the Chauffez vert program by consulting the Participant's Guide.

Before beginning the work, you will need to choose the equipment, materials and a contractor; read our useful tips on this topic if necessary.

Step 2

Once the work is finished, gather all the required supporting documents.

  • Proof of ownership of the home where the work was carried out
  • Copy of your latest electricity bill with all pages, including the consumption table
  • Full copy of your last fuel bill or annual delivery statement (oil or propane)
  • Proof of purchase and installation of the new heating system, which usually includes:
    • the address of the home concerned by the work
    • the name of the home owner
    • the name of the company
    • the RBQ licence number of the contractor that carried out the work
    • the date on which the work was carried out
    • the description of the work carried out
    • the cost of work
  • Proof of purchase and installation of the new water heater, which usually includes:
    • the address of the home concerned by the work
    • the name of the home owner
    • the name of the company
    • the RBQ licence number of the contractor that carried out the work
    • the date on which the work was carried out
    • the description of the work carried out
    • the cost of work
  • Proof of purchase and installation of the heat pump, which usually includes:
    • the address of the home concerned by the work
    • the name of the home owner
    • the name of the company
    • the RBQ licence number of the contractor that carried out the work
    • the date on which the work was carried out
    • the description of the work carried out
    • the description of the system that was installed, including
      • the AHRI certificate number
      • the model number of the unit located outside the home
      • the model number of the unit located inside the home
    • the cost of work
  • Photo of the label of each heat pump unit located inside the home
  • Photo of the label of each heat pump unit located outside the home
Step 3

Fill out your application for financial assistance on line (in French only) and make sure that you attach the required supporting documents.

Notice - Make sure that you have all the information you need on hand before starting to fill out the form.

  • You will not be able to interrupt the session or save information and then come back to it later. Therefore,
  • You can attach up to five PDF files or photos at the same time in a field. The total size of the files is limited to 10 MB per field and 50 MB for the entire form.
  • If necessary, consult the Participant’s Guide.
Step 4

Chauffez vert program managers will review the documents that have been received to determine if you are eligible for financial assistance. Additional information or documents may be requested from you during their review.

Step 5

If your application is complete, you will be notified by e-mail that you are either eligible or ineligible for financial assistance within 8 to 12 weeks. It may take longer if information or supporting documents are missing.

 

If you are eligible for financial assistance, you will also receive instructions by e-mail on how to safely provide your social insurance number (SIN) to the program's managers. The SIN is required to pay the financial assistance.

 

Never e-mail your SIN.

Step 6Follow the instructions you received to provide your SIN and receive a cheque for your financial assistance within 4 to 6 weeks.
