You can be eligible for grants from the Rénoclimat program if you:
- Improve your home’s insulation
- Improve your home’s airtightness
- Replace doors and windows with ENERGY STAR® certified models
- Install or replace mechanical systems (heat recovery ventilator, drain water heat recovery system)
Register for the Rénoclimat program so that an advisor can visit your home BEFORE you start renovating your home.
Just want to install or replace your heat pump, with no other retrofit?
Financial assistance is also available from Hydro-Québec.
Appointment scheduling for energy evaluations
For energy evaluation requests, we currently offer:
- Pre-retrofit energy evaluations for new participants in the Rénoclimat program;
- Post-retrofit energy evaluations for participants eligible for the Canada Greener Homes Grant;
- Post-retrofit energy evaluations for Canada Greener Homes Loan recipients whose loan completion deadline expires before April 1, 2025.
If you are not in one of these situations, don’t hesitate to request your next energy evaluation now. You will be given an appointment at a convenient time after April 1, 2025.
Some types of energy evaluations must be postponed in order to stay within the budget allocated by the Gouvernement du Québec to the Rénoclimat program.

You’re starting a renovation project
If this is your first time participating in the Rénoclimat program for your home, a Rénoclimat pre-retrofit evaluation is available now.

Canada Greener Homes Grant participants
- First time participating in the Canada Greener Homes Grant
If you only had one energy evaluation between April 1, 2020, and February 19, 2024, a post-retrofit evaluation is available now.

- Second time participating in the Canada Greener Homes Grant
If you had more than one energy evaluation between April 1, 2020, and February 19, 2024, a new post-retrofit evaluation will be available at a convenient date after April 1, 2025.

Canada Greener Homes Loan recipients
- Loan with completion deadline expiring before April 1, 2025
A post-retrofit energy evaluation allowing your loan to be disbursed is available now.

- Loan with completion deadline expiring after April 1, 2024
If you would like to obtain a post-retrofit energy evaluation to enable the disbursement of your loan, fill out the online form or contact our Customer Service Department for an appointment.
If your retrofits started before December 3, 2024, and you provide proof by December 20, 2024, a post retrofit energy evaluation will be available by April 1, 2025.
Otherwise, a post retrofit evaluation will be available at a convenient time after April 1, 2025.
Evaluation fees
As of November 1, 2024, a fee of $150, plus applicable taxes, is required for the pre-retrofit energy evaluation.This fee of $150 (without the taxes) will be refunded together with payment of the grant for eligible retrofits.

Energy evaluations available in all regions of Québec
In the Rénoclimat program, there are organizations in every region of Québec that can provide information about the program as well as energy evaluation services. Consult the List of organizations currently authorized.
Once registered, you can contact your Rénoclimat energy advisor to ask your questions about improving the energy efficiency of your home, the Rénoclimat program, an appointment for an energy assessment or the follow-up of your file.
